Stimulation for Body and Mind
Program Pillars
Pre and post assessments are the foundation of the intervention study, as they are essential for a valid evaluation of its effectiveness. Our study employs a comprehensive examination protocol that captures various physiological and cognitive parameters. Blood tests are conducted at the beginning and end of the intervention to analyze relevant biochemical changes. This is complemented by neuropsychological testing using established paper-pencil procedures and computer-based tasks to assess cognitive functions such as attention, memory, and executive performance. Balance and orientation are examined using modern technologies and virtual reality. The study concludes with an EEG measurement, which provides insights into the neural processing of errors.
Mindfulness means consciously perceiving the thoughts and feelings of the present moment without judgment or evaluation. It serves to reduce distractions caused by thoughts of the past or future, to increase self-awareness, and to reduce stress. In our study, this form of attention is fostered through various exercises in a certified training program, because our mental performance is not solely dependent on genetic factors or education—it can be actively maintained and trained. Mindfulness offers an accessible, scientifically validated approach therefore. Especially under chronic stress, regular mindfulness practice can contribute to long-term mental health and cognitive vitality.
Balance training not only improves orientation and helps to prevent falls, but has also a positive effect on cognitive performance. Through the targeted activation and networking of different brain regions, concentration, memory, attention, and cognitive flexibility are strengthened. At the same time, it promotes coordination, body awareness, and motor control, so that physical stability and mental fitness complement each other. Regular training thus supports the maintenance of cognitive reserves and facilitates the management of everyday tasks – a holistic approach for body and mind.
Fitness training is a key component of physical and cognitive health promotion. Targeted endurance and strength exercises not only improve physiological parameters such as cardiovascular function, muscle strength, and metabolic activity, but also positively influence neurocognitive processes. Regular physical activity promotes blood flow and neuroplasticity in the brain, contributing to improved cognitive performance, attention, and psychological stability. In this intervention study, fitness training thus serves as an evidence-based approach for the sustainable strengthening of physical and mental health.
The regular reflection of the own state of mind helps to consciously perceive and regulate thoughts, feelings, and physical states. This allows the targeted improvement of concentration, clear thinking, and stress management. Early recognition of stressful emotions can effectively prevent mental exhaustion. A deeper understanding of own moods, needs, and reactions supports positive learning experiences and thus sustainably increases cognitive performance. With digital support, the repeated recording of emotions in everyday situations helps to understand and evaluate the effects of different intervention approaches – free from retrospective memory distortions.
