WORKSPACES

Our workspaces are hubs for inter- and transdisciplinary research and collaboration. This name was inspired by the famous School of art and design Staatliche Bauhaus, which is still strongly embedded in Saxony-Anhalt.

CONVERGING
WORKFORCES

REVIVING THE BAUHAUS CONCEPT

The concept of “workspaces” as areas of cross-discipline labor is connected to the famous School of Art of Bauhaus, which was established after the industrial revolution. It is integral part of the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt.
Today, we find ourselves again in a new revolutionary era. An era of accelerated scientific, medical, technological and data advances where uniting expertises becomes more and more important. Here, the Bauhaus philosophy supports us to adapt. It embraces cosmopolitanism, creativity, and a spirit of "new thinking" which we envision our research in the workspaces will convey, too.
We plan to cross traditional boundaries by implementing teamwork between science, medicine, engineering and data science. We want to provide creative training and redefine the parameters of modern cognition research with a converged scientific view of the world in various innovative disciplines - just like Bauhaus.

Joining forces across disciplines

Our
Workspaces

The overarching goal of our research cluster is to understand, treat and prevent cognitive impairment. Hence, we designed four strategically and thematically related workspaces which together cover manifold aspects of cognitive vitality.

Our workspaces stand for innovative collaboration structures on the principles of neurocognitive circuit research and convergence. Within we bring together the fields of cognitive neuroscience, clinical medicine, and engineering/informatics which leads to research on fundamental mechanisms and their translation into clinical applications and technology.

Become a study participant!

How do our brains, our bodies and our environment interact? How do physical illnesses affect our mental performance? And why are we more efficient on some days than others?
We would like to get to the bottom of these questions together with you. Register now and take part in exciting studies.
